Alabama football 2023 early enrollee spotlight: Cole Adams

Cole Adams poses during visit to Alabama

Alabama football enrolled a good portion of its 2023 recruiting class in January.

Each of the Crimson Tide’s early enrollees will participate in the Crimson Tide’s full off-season program. Touchdown Alabama will highlight each of Alabama’s newest additions over the next few weeks in an article series.

We continue our series Cole Adams, a wide receiver from Oklahoma.

Cole Adams

-Classification: Freshman

Position: Wide Receiver

-Hometown: Owasso, Oklahoma

-Height: 5-10

-Weight: 186 pounds

Summary: There was not a lot of talk surrounding Cole Adams during his senior season at Owasso High School in Oklahoma before he came to Alabama, and the lack of conversation was in large part due to the fact he missed most of the 2022 football season with a shoulder injury.

The Alabama freshman was poised to put up big numbers as a senior. Adams was known as a speedy and explosive slot wide receiver before his shoulder injury. He was also a multi-sport athlete for the Rams, holding a PR of 10.65 in the 100-meter dash.

Adams was a weapon as a kick and punt returner as a junior. He was a threat to return the football every time he fielded it. One of the most impressive parts of Adams’s game was his ability to play the football in the air at 5-foot-10. He has also flashed some physicality while blocking as a wide receiver and breaking tackles in open field with the ball in his hands.

In his one half of action during the 2022 football season, Adams appeared to be a polished route runner.

The former four-star recruit will enter a loaded Alabama wide receiver room. The Oklahoma product will still have an opportunity to come in and compete for early playing time.
