Tavaris Coles reported his first offer from Arkansas State University Saturday, getting his recruitment rolling.

Coles attends McAdory High School in McCalla, Alabama. He is a junior and is a member of the 2024 recruiting class. The McAdory product feels the moment he received his first offer is one he will cherish moving forward.

“I was actually talking to the head coach (Butch Jones) in his office and he asked, ‘Do you have any offers?’ Coles said. “I responded, ‘No sir,’ and he said, ‘Well now you do, congratulations. My first feeling was excitement because it all happened so fast. I couldn’t stop smiling.”

It is no big surprise Coles is starting to pop up on college football coaches’ radars. He is a long and speedy wide receiver at 6-foot-3, who can stretch the field and can make plays by getting behind the defense. The junior also possesses some impressive athleticism with his ability to play the football in the air.

Coles feels he is a threat at wide receiver for a variety of reasons.

“Creating separation, catching the ball with my hands, ability to get in and out of my breaks, body control and winning vertically,” Coles said when asked what his strengths were.
