He met with a couple of teams in NFL free agency, but Mack Wilson returns to the New England Patriots.
Wilson, a former University of Alabama linebacker, signed a one-year deal worth $2.2 million. Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported the news first Thursday and other media outlets followed him. Wilson totaled 36 tackles, 1.5 sacks, a pass breakup, and a forced fumble in a career-high 17 games in 2022. He was traded to the Patriots on March 16, 2022, after four seasons with the Cleveland Browns. Wilson has 199 career tackles, 2.5 sacks, an interception (10 passes defended), and two forced fumbles.

He got selected in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

Wilson came to the Crimson Tide as a five-star linebacker in the 2016 recruiting class from Carver High School in Montgomery, Ala. He assisted the Tide to two Southeastern Conference Championships (2016, 2018) and a College Football Playoff National Championship in 2017.
