One of Alabama football’s newest wide receivers and JUCO product, Malik Benson had an opportunity to catch passes from Bryce Young at Alabama football’s Pro Day Thursday, and he has Tide fans excited about his future in Tuscaloosa.
Benson was the No. 1 rated JUCO prospect in the country during the 2023 recruiting cycle. He consistently made big plays during his two years at Hutchinson Community College in Kansas, finishing his career there with 2,206 receiving yards and 21 receiving touchdowns. He caught many people’s eyes on social media with the smooth routes he ran Thursday while catching balls from Young.

The new Alabama wideout was consistent throughout the day as he did not drop a single pass from Young. His routes also appeared to be crisped and under control.
Benson has previously expressed his desire to help Alabama win another National Championship.
“My mindset is just going to be exactly what it was,” Benson told Touchdown Alabama. Another reason why I picked Alabama is because it was just like Hutch. Our standard is to play to get it done, regardless of how it has to get done. My goal is to play for a National Championship and just to show people why we are Alabama, no matter who we are playing. I don’t care if we are playing the worst team. I don’t care if we are playing the best team.”

The Kansas native is expected to push for playing time during his first year in Tuscaloosa.
