Alabama has been keeping its quarterback battle close to the vest as the team moves through spring football. Jalen Milroe and Ty Simpson’s competition will no doubt bleed into the fall, but it’s been difficult to see who has had the upper hand so far in April.
Milroe brings just a bit more experience to the table seeing that he started one game last season against Texas A&M. One way that would set him apart from Simpson would be showing his improvement as a passer since it was one of his big question marks entering this year.
Well, the Alabama social media account seemingly gave a glimpse at Milroe’s improved accuracy with a pass to wide receiver Ja’Corey Brooks which went viral last week.

Although it was difficult to make out who exactly threw the pass, some deep internet investigating led those to believe that it was Milroe who threw the ball.
But speculation appeared to be put to rest when Milroe commented on the post asking why he wasn’t tagged.

To officially get to the bottom of things members of the media asked Brooks, the recipient of the pass, who threw the ball to him on that catch.
But Brooks ultimately claimed he did not remember.
“To be honest, I didn’t know who threw the ball,” Brooks said. “I just saw the ball in the air.”
Instead, Brooks, the team’s most experienced wide receiver, praised both quarterbacks’ improvement so far this spring.
“I’ve seen a lot of improvement from him,” Brooks said. “Both quarterbacks, they’re both competing, are hard-working and they’re getting the job done.”
Brooks also made sure to give credit to McKinstry who is the one he caught the pass against in the video. McKinstry is one of the Crimson Tide’s top defensive players returning and Brooks shared that the two are working together, sharpening their skills at practice.
“I saw the video come across my phone too,” Brooks said. “But me and Kool-Aid, man, battle in practice every day. He wins some with me. Somehow we just didn’t get the footage out, but that next play, he caught a pick against me. Me and him, we’re gonna go at it every practice, and Terrion (Arnold) also.”
