Alabama football’s junior wide receiver, Malik Benson continues to garner attention during his early days in Tuscaloosa.
Benson was considered the nation’s No. 1 JUCO prospect during the 2023 recruiting cycle by multiple recruiting outlets. He enrolled at the University of Alabama as an early enrollee in January and participated in bowl prep with the Tide for the Sugar Bowl.
Alabama’s veteran wideout, Ja’Corey Books said he has enjoyed the energy the Kansas native has brought to the team.
“I have been loving his energy since he came in,” Brooks said Wednesday during his player media availability. “Since the bowl game, he has been coming in, working, bringing positive energy. Always want that leadership quality, so I have been liking his energy so far.”
Benson recently turned heads at Alabama’s Pro Day when he caught passes from Bryce Young and did not drop a pass, showing flashes of what he can do. He finished his JUCO career there with 2,206 receiving yards and 21 receiving touchdowns.
