Alabama football recruiting spending trend revealed

Alabama football’s recruiting expenses since 2017 were revealed in NCAA financial reports obtained by USA TODAY Sports Network Wednesday.

The Crimson Tide are among the biggest spenders in college football when it comes to recruiting. The numbers in the financial report prove Alabama is not shy about putting money towards its future. However, the Tide’s spending has been consistent over the last six years.

In 2017, Alabama spent $1,536,958 in recruiting, $2,344,057 in 2018, $2,633,467 in 2019, $2,105,688 in 2020, $527,662 in 2021 and $2,324,470 in 2022 for a grand total of $11,472,302. Alabama has had an average spending of $1,912,050.33 since 2017.

According to the report, Alabama ranks as No. 7 in recruiting spending. Georgia is No. 1 with an average spending of $2,753,143.17 since 2017. Clemson, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Texas followed.
