We will need another scrimmage or the A-Day game to determine which quarterback pulls away for Alabama football.
Nick Saban addressed reporters after Friday’s game-like practice at Bryant-Denny Stadium. He praised Jalen Milroe and Ty Simpson, stating both played ‘equally well’ running the offense.

“Both of them did a nice job managing the game,” Saban said.
Saban mentioned how the defense could not create turnovers, meaning both quarterbacks kept the ball out of harm’s way.
Milroe, a redshirt sophomore, gained starting experience last year against Texas A&M. He totaled three touchdowns, helping Alabama secure a 24-20 victory — despite three turnovers. Milroe also earned playing time versus Arkansas, replacing an injured Bryce Young. Simpson, a redshirt freshman, did not get a lot of time in 2022. He brings much potential with his arm talent.
We will see what happens moving forward, but Saban was pleased with both guys in the first scrimmage.
