Nick Saban is seeing quickly he made the right decision for parting with Bill O’Brien and hiring Tommy Rees.
The new offensive coordinator for Alabama had Saban speaking highly of him Friday after the first scrimmage of spring practice.

After spending six seasons (2017-22) at Notre Dame as a quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator, Rees is excited about bringing balance to the Crimson Tide. According to Saban, the offense “looked great” in the scrimmage and made plays.
“Tommy does a great job with the players. The players like him,” Saban said.
“He has taken our system that we use and added things to it. I think the offensive line is doing a good job. We have a few more multiples in terms of how we can run the ball. He does a really good job with formations, and how to use formations to create advantages for us on offense. I am pleased with what we have been able to do on offense.”
The 30-year-old has Alabama humming beautifully so far on offense.
Saban mentioned how Jalen Milroe and Ty Simpson played ‘equally well’ at quarterback, meaning both have taken strongly to Rees’ developmental style. If he continues to progress, the Tide should have an offensive attack to pound opponents and score points.
