Alabama football made a huge move by adding Ken Whisenhunt to Nick Saban’s coaching staff.

As a wealth of knowledge, Whisenhunt played college and professional football. In his coaching career, he has served as a position coach, offensive coordinator, and head coach in the National Football League. The 61-year-old spent the last two seasons improving Penn State as an offensive analyst. He is a tough-minded individual, but Whisenhunt brings a lot of energy.

He’s bought into helping Saban get the Crimson Tide back to a College Football Playoff National Championship.

Per Saban, Whisenhunt is a ‘good complement’ to the staff.

“He is a really good coach,” Saban said about Whisenhunt. “He has a lot of good experience. He has been a head coach, he’s been an offensive coordinator in the NFL for a long time. He was in a similar role at Penn State for two years, so he learned the college game. He is a good guy. I think everyone has a lot of respect for him. I think his energy, enthusiasm, and ideas have been helpful for us.”

Whisenhunt will play a huge role in team meetings and coaches meetings. He will put together game plans, structure data, and create ways to help the Crimson Tide be effective on both sides of the ball.
