Illinois TE Eric Karner gives thoughts on Alabama

Eric Karner

Eric Karner is officially back on the market after de-committing from Purdue, and Alabama football is one of the schools interested in him.

Karner is a product of Illinois, and he garners a three-star rating from multiple recruiting sites.

Purdue picked up a commitment from Karner as his recruitment grew at a fast rate in March. The junior added offers from Alabama, Texas A&M, South Carolina and Arkansas after he committed to the Boilermakers

The Crimson Tide offered Karner earlier this month. His offer came from Alabama’s tight end coach Joe Cox during his visit to Tuscaloosa.

Karner feels Alabama is a place where he can be developed.

“My overall thoughts would just be that they are a machine,” Karner told Touchdown Alabama. “All they do is produce, and they can develop me.”

The three-star also gave his thoughts on Nick Saban.

“He is straight business, leaves no blurred lines,” Karner said.

Immaculate Conception Catholic Prep has Karner listed as 6-foot-5 and 205 pounds. He lines up as an in-line tight end at times and out wide. He made plays at both spots last season. He also proved to be a physical blocker in space.
