An explosive wide receiver and return specialist in the Nick Saban era is excited about Alabama’s wide receiver room.
Christion Jones, a former three-star in the 2011 recruiting class, played for Saban from 2011 to 2014. He got recruited as a cornerback, but Jones excelled as a wide receiver. Jones helped the Crimson Tide to capture back-to-back BCS National Championships in 2011 and 2012. He assisted Alabama to two Southeastern Conference titles in 2012 and 2014.

Jones is a co-host on The Developmental Focus Points, a YouTube show for The Bama Standard. He joins Bo Scarbrough (host), Blake Sims (co-host), and Trent Richardson (co-host) as Alabama alums. Jones is impressed by the Tide’s group of receivers, but he highlighted three as names to watch in the fall. He pulled out a former junior college transfer as the most special in his eyes.
“I love [Ja’Corey] Brooks,” Jones said Wednesday on The Developmental Focus Points. “He has probably been the most consistent from all the spring practice I’ve been at. Isaiah Bond has a chance to surprise some people, but Malik Benson is like that, for sure. He is like that.”
Jones said there are a lot of guys in the receiver room that can show out, but Benson has his attention.
The spring game will be fun Saturday and next season should be interesting.
