Fast-rising Goshen RB Jamauri McClure picking up Power 5 offers

Jaumari McClure

The last few weeks might have been a blurr for Jamauri McClure, who has seen his recruitment go from him having no offers to Big Ten and SEC programs calling him.

McClure did not hold a single offer, and he was not receiving any interest from college football programs over a month ago. Things begin to change for McClure when Troy football, which is twenty minutes away from Goshen High School, got wind of a hidden gem in its backyard.

Troy quickly got McClure on campus for a visit, but the Trojans were not the first to offer him. The defending Big Ten West Champions beat them to the punch by becoming the first program to offer the 2024 recruit.

Troy followed suit by offering McClure two days later. His offer list stands at seven with recent offers from UAB, Western Michigan, Miami of Ohio, Toledo and Ole Miss. The Rebels became the first SEC program to offer the Goshen back Tuesday when Ole Miss’ staff member Enrique Davis offered him.

“I found out when coach Davis called and talked to me about their program and told me they wanted to offer me,” McClure said. “I know it is a big offer.”

Ole Miss wants to get McClure to campus to camp and to visit in the near future. South Alabama and Mississippi State are other programs really showing an interest in McClure, who continues to be excited about the opportunities he has earned.

“I am just excited that I am actually getting exposure to get these offers,” McClure told Touchdown Alabama. “I am glad they are giving me an opportunity.”

The increased interest in McClure is in large part due to his blazing speed and impressive frame. He weighs 190 pounds and holds a PR of 10.78 in the 100-meter dash. His speed allows him to create separation in open space, and he flashes good balance when running the football.
