Alabama, Auburn among schools recruiting McAdory TE JaCorey Whitted hard

Multiple SEC programs are standing out to 2024 tight end, JaCorey Whitted.

Whitted attends McAdory High School in McCalla, Alabama. He garners a four-star rating from multiple recruiting sites at the moment and holds offers from more than 11 D1 programs. The McAdory product feels Alabama, Auburn and Tennessee are among the schools recruiting him the hardest.

Alabama’s defensive line coach Freddie Roach is in contact with the four-star recruit ‘every day.’ The Crimson Tide are impressed with how ‘physical’ he is.

“I love everything about it,” Whitted said when discussing the Tide in January when Alabama offered him. “It has always been one of the colleges I have been wanting to go to ever since I was little. My dad and I use to always talk about it before he passed.”

Auburn checked in on McAdory and Whitted Wednesday during spring practice. His interest is very high in the Tigers as well.

“It is really high because we talk a lot, FaceTime all that,” Whitted said.

Tennessee’s staff is also doing what needs to be done to stay in contention for Whitted.

“My interest in them is high too,” said Whitted. “I talked to Max Thurmond and the new tight end coach up there.”

There is no decision timeline in place for Whitted at the moment, but he does know one school he wants to officially visit.

“I know Alabama one of them,” said Whitted.

At 6-foot-6 and approximately 220 pounds, Whitted has the skillset to be a versatile tight at the next level. He has the frame of a future tight end, but he looks really comfortable flexed out wide at wide receiver.

The new Alabama target flashed some athleticism while playing wide receiver during the 2022 football season.
