At the very end of the second day of the NFL Draft, Alabama tight end Cameron Latu landed out west.
Latu was selected with pick No. 102 of the draft by the San Francisco 49ers.
After originally arriving at Alabama as a linebacker, Latu made the switch over to tight end in 2019 and would eventually be named a starter in 2021 where he set a record for touchdown receptions by a tight end for the Crimson Tide with eight on the year. In 2022, Latu capped off his career starting 11-of-13 games recording 30 receptions for 377 yards and four touchdowns.
He’ll now be added to a tight end room in San Francisco which is led by one of the league’s best in George Kittle.
