Cameron Latu had an interesting journey at the University of Alabama, but it was worth it.
He arrived as a linebacker in the 2018 signing class, but he got switched to tight end in 2019. Latu, a Utah native, earned a starting role for the Crimson Tide in 2021 on offense. He caught 26 passes for 410 yards and eight touchdowns, helping the Tide to a Southeastern Conference Championship and an appearance in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game.

Latu got selected at No. 101 overall in the third round by the San Francisco 49ers. John Lynch, the general manager for San Francisco, made the phone call to Latu. He is excited to help this offense be productive under Kyle Shanahan.
