Jaylen Key has Alabama listed among his favorites ahead of him making a decision on his future later this month.
Key entered the transfer portal last week and took a visit to Alabama football. He listed the Crimson Tide, Florida State, North Carolina, Ohio State, Ole Miss and Oregon in his top six Sunday.

The Tallahassee, Florida product is looking to make a decision in the coming weeks, and he is currently considering a variety of factors.
“I will definitely consider the history and continued success of defensive backs there being cultivated into NFL superstars and also this past draft will be a big factor,” Key told Touchdown Alabama. “Also just team culture and program tradition. I want an ideal location for the family to travel but that could always be a compromise for that. Lastly, just my relationship with the coaches and the program’s ability to set me up after football, whether it be 10 or two years from now.”
Alabama caught Key’s attention when he visited the Tide last week.
“It is a great environment, even better people,” Key said. “Overall, quite impressive to say the least. It is definitely a reason they have had the success they have had on and off the field, and you can feel it throughout the entire campus.”
The 6-foot-2, 210-pounder was named an Honorable Mention for All-Conference USA last season. He finished the year with 60 tackles, three interceptions, 4.5 tackles for loss and two forced fumbles at safety as a redshirt junior.
Nick Saban discussed the possibility of Alabama adding players from the transfer portal after losing multiple players during spring football.
“I think some college players sometimes think the portal is a one-way street, but it’s really not, because we have an opportunity to bring guys in and replace them, too, if we choose to do that,” Saban said.
Alabama’s secondary is a spot where the Tide could use some experience depth.
