McWhorter is a freshman at Cass High School in Cartersville, Georgia, and he is a member of the 2026 recruiting class. Alabama is the 13th program to offer the Georgia product.
The Crimson Tide’s tight end coach Joe Cox got out to Cass High School to pass on the good news to McWhorter’s head coach.
“When he told me, it did not feel real,” McWhorter said. “I have been a Bama fan from the second I came out of the womb. Getting the offer is surreal.”
McWhorter gave a glowing review of Alabama football.
“Everything about Alabama is different,” McWhorter told Touchdown Alabama. “There is something about that uniform, that logo. When you see it, it’s like you have to respect it.”
Alabama hosted the 2026 recruit last month. He caught up with Nick Saban during his visit.
“He is a legend, and many people say he is the best to ever do it,” said McWhorter. “He has a very strong case for it. There truly is no one like him.”
McWhorter is listed at approximately 300 pounds and he stands at 6-foot-4. He reportedly finished the year giving up zero sacks on 516 snaps.
