The Dallas Cowboys have a decision to make involving one of its best defensive players.
Trevon Diggs, a University of Alabama alum, is in the final year of his rookie contract.

He got selected in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft and has been spectacular for the Cowboys.
Diggs collected 17 interceptions, including a league-high 11 in 2021, in three seasons. He has defended 49 passes, becoming one of the best young defensive backs in the National Football League. The 6-foot-2, 195-pounder wants to remain in Dallas, but will he be offered a bigger contract? Diggs’ base salary for the fall is $4.3 million and his cap hit is $4.8 million. According to Jon Machota, who covers the Cowboys for The Athletic, Diggs is hopeful a deal gets done so he can remain with Dallas.

Diggs became a first-team All-Pro selection in 2022. He is an unrestricted free agent after this upcoming season.
Diggs played under Nick Saban for the Crimson Tide from 2016 to 2019. He helped Alabama win a College Football Playoff National Championship in 2017 and two Southeastern Conference Championships in 2016 and 2018.
