Nick Saban eyes an opportunity to show he is still the standard bearer in college football.

He suffered a loss to Kirby Smart in the 2022 College Football Playoff National Championship and fell twice in the 2022 regular season to the University of Tennessee and Louisiana State University. National media hails Georgia as the best team in the sport, and Tigers’ head coach Brian Kelly said he ‘loves beating Alabama’ after one victory over the Tide. Coach Saban parted ways from Bill O’Brien and Pete Golding following last season. He brought in two coordinators that mean business, especially on defense.

Saban wants to restamp himself as the leader in college football, but it starts with this upcoming season.

On Wednesday, Stephen Smith of Touchdown Alabama Magazine explained why this fall is a defining season for Saban and Alabama football via In My Own Words.

This is one of the most IMPORTANT seasons in Saban's career
