Nate Thomason has seen his recruitment take off after a big junior campaign.
Thomason attends Helena High School in Helena, Alabama. He is a junior and is a member of the 2024 recruiting class. The Helena product holds offers from Southern Miss, Jacksonville State, Southeast Missouri State, Navy, Mercer and Air Force.
Thomason’s first offer was from Jacksonville State. The Gamecocks extended an offer to the 2024 recruit in January. At 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds, Thomason’s size combined with his impressive junior film has coaches excited over his potential.
“They like my size, my ball skills and my good tackling ability,” Thomason told Touchdown Alabama.
Like most high school linebackers, Thomason knows he must add some mass to his frame to be effective at the collegiate level.
“I want to add on about 20 to 30 pounds of muscle, just to get bigger,” said Thomason.
The junior was a punishing tackler during the 2022 football season. He made plays while rushing off the edge and while playing off the ball at linebacker. He also flashed an ability to be effective against the pass when dropping back in coverage.
