UAB transfer DB Jaylen Key returning to Alabama for visit

Jaylen Key is returning to Alabama for a visit Monday after entering the transfer portal and unofficially visiting the Crimson Tide late last month.

Key is a former UAB safety. The 6-foot-2, 210-pounder was named an Honorable Mention for All-Conference USA last season. He finished the year with 60 tackles, three interceptions, 4.5 tackles for loss and two forced fumbles at safety as a redshirt junior.

The Florida native is currently considering Crimson Tide, Florida State, North Carolina, Ohio State, Ole Miss and Oregon. He told Touchdown Alabama he feels Alabama football stood out during his visit last month.

“It is a great environment, even better people,” Key said. “Overall, quite impressive to say the least. It is definitely a reason they have had the success they have had on and off the field, and you can feel it throughout the entire campus.”

Key could be making a decision any day now as he plans to commit at some point this month.
