Kevin Steele has restored the dominant mentality to Alabama football.
Nick Saban knew in the 2021 spring game that he could go after Kool-Aid McKinstry for walking on the field.
He knew that the former five-star had the mindset to take correction and better himself. McKinstry, a Birmingham native, grew up with toughness in his blood. He channeled his inner Saban and Steele in a fiery speech to elite players at Parker High School after seeing them not give the maximum effort needed on the field. McKinstry chastised the players, but he did out of the understanding of wanting them to be their very best. He did not take shortcuts in his journey, and he doesn’t want it from the next generation. The coaches at Parker were happy to see a Division One athlete lay down the law for everyone to understand.
“Y’all boys gotta bust y’all a– every day. 90 degrees, 50 degrees, it don’t f-ckin’ matter!”
