As a University of Alabama alumnus, Anderson ranks second all-time in school history for career sacks (34.5) and tackles for loss (62). He put the college football world on notice in 2021 with 17.5 sacks and 34.5 tackles for loss. Anderson faced a lot of double teams in 2022, but he managed to record ten sacks on the season. He became a two-time Bronko Nagurski Award winner, a two-time SEC Defensive Player of the Year winner, and a two-time Unanimous First-Team All-American selection. Anderson helped the Crimson Tide to a College Football Playoff National Championship as a freshman and an SEC Championship in 2021.
