Cincinnati has several big-play wide receivers on its roster, including JaMarr Chase, but now Joe Burrow has a talented tight end.
Irv Smith Jr., a University of Alabama alumnus, joins the Bengals after time with the Minnesota Vikings. Smith was with the Vikings for four years (2019-22) as a former second-round pick. He totaled 88 receptions for 844 yards and eight touchdowns.

The 6-foot-2, 240-pounder came into the Crimson Tide’s 2016 signing class.
He assisted the team to a College Football Playoff National Championship in 2017 and two Southeastern Conference titles in 2016 and 2018. Smith made second-team All-SEC in 2018 after totaling 44 catches for 710 yards and seven touchdowns. According to Burrow, Smith has been smooth for the Bengals in offseason workouts and he is excited to have the former Tide standout.
