Alabama fans felt he should have been a first-round pick, but Brian Branch landed in a good situation.
He got selected in the second round by the Detroit Lions. As a native Georgian, Branch dominated in Alabama’s secondary last season — totaling 90 tackles, 14 stops for loss, three sacks, seven pass breakups, two quarterback hurries, and two interceptions.

Nick Saban praised his versatility thoughout his career.
Branch possesses the ability to play cornerback, ‘Star’ (nickel corner), and safety. He is doing everything he can to get on the field early for the Lions as a rookie. According to the Lions, he is learning all the positions in the secondary to get on the field.
