Alabama head coach Nick Saban has returned to the United States.

The 71-year-old enjoyed his time in Italy, but he is more overjoyed about the Crimson Tide football brand.

Several people talked with him about his program on international soil. People yelled “Roll Tide” at him and to him throughout his trip. On Tuesday, Saban met with reporters at the Old Overton Golf Club for the annual Nick’s Kids event.

He discussed how much it meant to him to see the Alabama brand have marquee significance outside of the U.S.

“There is something to say about the brand we have,” Saban said. “It is an iconic brand, the Crimson Tide. We get ‘Roll Tide’ in Venice, Florence, and Rome. That was everywhere I went. So that says something about the brand. I don’t know what that says about me.”

He was in a joking mood with reporters, but Saban is refreshed and energized to return to work.

Saban has a team poised to snatch momentum from Georgia by winning a national championship. He has gotten recruits from international borders, including Jesse Williams (Australia), Adam Griffith (Poland), James Burnip (Australia), and Olaus Alinen (Finland). The brand of football in Tuscaloosa (Ala.) is special, and Saban intends on keeping that way with consistent winning.
