One of the biggest hidden gems in the state of Alabama is no longer a secret with more offers starting to roll in for James Clemens’ 2024 edge, Jaylen Brown.
A little over a week ago, Brown did not have an FBS college football offer. In fact, he had very limited high school football experience. That changed when he strapped on his pads this spring for the Jets.
The 2024 prospect now holds offers from Alcorn State, Southern Illinois, Alabama A&M, Arkansas State and Illinois State. He has also received camp and campus invites from Ole Miss, Kennesaw State and Troy.
The majority of those offers have come Brown’s way within the last week. The junior said he feels grateful to have opportunities to play at the next level.

“It’s great, to be honest,” Brown told Touchdown Alabama. “I’m glad I may get opportunities at the next level.”
Brown’s offer list may not wow anyone just yet, but his spring film sure those. At 6-foot-6 and 240 pounds, the junior explodes off the ball and pass offensive linemen in pursuit of the football. He knows how to use his length and reach to his advantage, and he has some impressive rush moves in his bag to be an inexperienced football player. Brown also packs power with his punch, which is what he feels is a strength of his game at the moment.
“I think my long arms really separate me,” Brown said. “I’m getting better at pass rush. My strike is also a strong point.”
