Freshmen and transfers are ready to get to work in the Crimson Tide’s summer program. A transfer safety is putting in work with a former Alabama standout. Jaylen Key, an ex-UAB player, is training with Justin Woodall of All-in-One Training out of Birmingham, Ala. Key, a South Florida native, played in 44 career games for the Blazers and had a breakout season in 2022.

He recorded 60 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and three interceptions.

Key enters a positional group with a lot of talented pieces, including Malachi Moore, Kristian Story, Caleb Downs, Jake Pope, and Devonta Smith. The 6-foot-2, 210-pounder has to impress coaches and teammates for an opportunity to grab a starting spot.

It is going to be interesting to see how he fits in the rotation.
