When one is trying to secure a starting job for Alabama football, there is no such thing as a break.
The University of Alabama had the remainder of its freshmen enrollees move in on Sunday, but a former five-star quarterback was putting in work on Memorial Day. Ty Simpson, a Tennessee native, was tossing passes at Hardy M. Graham Stadium — the home of the Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks. Simpson’s father, Jason, took the video of his son and shared it on social media.

The 6-foot-2, 203-pounder has been working hard to open the summer. Simpson has the potential to be the Crimson Tide’s starting quarterback, but he has to beat out Jalen Milroe and Tyler Buchner for the job. Milroe, a redshirt sophomore, has trained in the offseason thus far for an opportunity. Buchner, a transfer from Notre Dame, has 13 games of experience as a signal-caller.
