According to Jeff Howe, NFL National Insider for The Athletic, Jones completed 28 of 34 passes — 82.3 percent — during competitive team drills. He completed 16 of 22 passes in 11-on-11 drills. Jones used his check downs well but also made some accurate downfield throws. Howe reported New England was down JuJu Smith-Schuster and Tyquan Thornton in practice.

Jones made use of Mike Gesicki, Hunter Henry, Kendrick Bourne, and DeVante Parker.

Howe shared that Jones had two interceptions, but he categorized them as ‘weird’ and ‘somewhat intentional.’

Jones has been spending time picking apart Bill Belichick’s defensive mind. He wants to manipulate any defense he faces in the fall, and it is best to learn from one of the greatest gurus in the National Football League. The former Alabama quarterback wants to earn everyone’s respect back after what happened last season. He is on track to doing so with how he has taken charge.
