It has not taken long for Bryce Young to have the respect of everyone for the Carolina Panthers.

Frank Reich made the move to select him at No. 1 overall in the NFL Draft and move him to the starting quarterback role after watching him perform well in rookie minicamp and organized team activities. Teammates are loving what they are seeing from the former University of Alabama signal-caller. His presence in practice and the playbook has been strong; however, it is his confidence that has veterans vibing with him. Brian Burns, a defensive end, enters his fifth season for the Panthers in the fall.

He is coming off a career-high 12.5 sacks in 2022. He told local reporters Tuesday that it is hard not to like Young.

“He has put quite a stamp on the locker room,” Burns said about Young. “He walks around with this humble, but I know I’m the s— type of swag. He knows he’s got it, but he is humble with it. He is always happy. He is a good kid.”

Young has had this kind of confidence since high school. He brought it to the University of Alabama and became the program’s first Heisman Trophy winner at quarterback. Now, he looks to help the Panthers become the team to beat in the NFC.
