Malachi Moore, a native of Trussville, Ala., came in as a four-star safety in 2020.

He quickly earned playing time as a freshman, starting at ‘Star’ and helping the Crimson Tide to a College Football Playoff National Championship. Moore collected 44 tackles, four stops for loss, six pass breakups, two quarterback hurries, a forced fumble, three interceptions (team-high), and a fumble returned for a touchdown. He achieved several awards in his first year but has been unable to capture the same success. Moore has battled some injuries, but now he is healthy again. He put on a show in Alabama’s spring game, earning the Dixie Howell Memorial Award for Most Valuable Player. The addition of Kevin Steele as defensive coordinator has Moore very excited for the season. He brings much experience to the secondary, and a former Tide wide receiver expects a massive season from him. Tyrone Prothro, an Alabama native, is high on Moore heading into his senior year.

He will be a marquee part of the communication for Alabama to succeed in the secondary. Moore has trained with Justin Woodall, a former Crimson Tide safety, all offseason. He has a chance to have an All-American season.
