Could having a national media pundit on Alabama’s coaching staff be hard to picture?

In an interview with Joel Klatt of Fox Sports, Nick Saban offered Klatt a job on his coaching staff.

Klatt mentioned to Saban not to offer it unless he is serious. Saban may have done it as a joke, but it is not out of the realm of possibility for the Crimson Tide to look up and see Klatt on the staff. Klatt told Saban that his father was a high school football coach and he loved competing. Klatt got into the sports broadcast industry but said he thought he would be a coach.

“What the worst part is on Saturdays is that I don’t have an outcome,” Klatt said to Saban. “There is no locker room at the end of the game, which I still long for. There is a chase in my industry where I am preparing for the game as best as I can to serve not only the teams on both sides but the fanbases. Then, the lights turn out and you go get on an airplane.”

Klatt has a passion to coach, so he asked the Alabama fans if he should take a job on Saban’s staff.
