According to Barrett Sallee of CBS Sports, Mallett drowned at a local beach in Florida and was pronounced after being transported to a hospital. The 35-year-old played three seasons for the Razorbacks (2008-10) after transferring from Michigan.
He was a two-time second-team All-SEC selection and had 62 touchdown passes at Arkansas.
Mallett got selected in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots and spent seven seasons in the National Football League between the Patriots (2011-13), Houston Texans (2014-15), and Baltimore Ravens (2015-17). He started his coaching career at Mountain Home High School in 2020, but Mallett is always remembered for his excellence at Arkansas.

Man, this is so upsetting.
People will remember his arm talent and what a great player he was, but I’ll remember the person. Such a fun guy to be around and he always knew how to make you laugh.
RIP Brother. We will be praying for your family and those closest to you. https://t.co/hyCsubYEas
