William Sanders announced a verbal commitment to Alabama on Friday.
Sanders is a 2024 offensive lineman out of Brookwood High School in Alabama, and he garners a four-star rating from multiple recruiting sites at the moment. The in-state prospect is the Crimson Tide’s 15th 2024 commit.
Alabama offered Sanders last month after he impressed at camp. He returned to Tuscaloosa later that month for the Tide’s recruiting cookout event, and the visit appeared to be a turning point in his recruitment.
“I got to meet some of the new recruits,” Sanders told Touchdown Alabama after the June visit. “Not only new recruits but recruits I haven’t met yet. I got to meet some of them, hang out with some of the players and then got to chill with coach Wolford. We did a scavenger hunt around campus, seeing all the different parts of campus and riding around on a golf cart with coach Wolf and the other players, just having fun being kids and bonding with the coaches.”
Alabama’s coaching staff made Sanders feel wanted since offering him.
“I talk to them pretty regularly,” said Sanders. “When we talk, I don’t feel like it’s forced or scripted. I feel like they really want me there. I feel great about it.”
At 6-foot-3 and 295 pounds, Sanders is a physical run blocker, who currently carries a little to no bad weight. He moves well in space, but he wants to work on consistently being disciplined in his technique.
