Jalen Hurts, Tua Tagovailoa choose to not be in Netflix series

Jalen Hurts attempts a pass in the 2022 season (2023 playoff game) against the New York Giants for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Jalen Hurts and Tua Tagovailoa both expressed no interest in being featured on Netflix’s “Quarterback” series.

The series chronicled Patrick Mahomes, Marcus Mariota and Kirk Cousins during the 2022 football season. Hurts said Thursday he decided not to participate in the series during the last NFL season.

“I actually turned it down last year,” said Hurts. “I didn’t feel it was appropriate for the year, so I turned down the opportunity to be on it.”

Tagovailoa said he also turned down the series because he is a ‘personal’ guy.

“There have been talks about going on it,” Tagovailoa said. “but I feel like right now it just isn’t the right time. But even, too, because I’m a very personal guy, I felt like the series was a lot more personal. It was a lot more about their personal lives than it was more so what they did on the football field.”
