Quinton Reese picked up a long-awaited Alabama offer on Tuesday.
Reese is a 2024 linebacker recruit out of Ramsay High School in Birmingham, Alabama. He holds offers from Middle Tennessee State, UCF and others to go along with his new offer from the Crimson Tide.
The process of Alabama offering him started when he impressed the Tide’s coaches at camp.
“The process all started when I went to camp, and I showed out and did my thing,” Reese told Touchdown Alabama. “I knew I was on their radar ever since. When I found out, I was in the bed. I hopped right out of bed and told my brother. We just started listening to music and celebrating.”
Alabama is the first SEC program to offer the rising senior, and the magnitude of the offer is not lost on Reese.
“It means a lot,” said Reese. “It feels good knowing my hard work isn’t going unnoticed, especially arguably by the best coach of all time. Alabama is a great school, a great program with great people. I feel like it prepares you not just for football but life after football.”
The rising junior does not have a commitment timeline in place at the moment.
“I’m really just focused on the season and taking this journey day by day,” Reese said.
At 6-foot and 210 pounds, Reese is one of the smoothest inside linebackers in coverage in the country. He drops back and moves like a veteran linebacker defending the pass. Coaches have also praised his physicality and his ability to play sideline to sideline.
The Ramsay product finished the 2022 football season with 155 total tackles, 24 tackles for loss, four interceptions and five sacks.
