The #Patriots are expected to sign former #Cowboys star RB Ezekiel Elliott to a 1-year deal worth up to $6M after his successful FA visit earlier in camp, per me and @TomPelissero. As a free-agent, Elliott had a successful meeting with the Patriots. The 28-year-old wants to prove he still has a lot more football left in his tank. He was the No. 4 overall pick of the Dallas Cowboys in the 2016 NFL Draft. Elliott is a three-time Pro Bowler and twice led the National Football League for rushing yards in 2016 and 2018. He had four 1,000+ yard rushing seasons in seven years with the Cowboys. Elliott helped Ohio State defeat Alabama in the 2015 College Football Playoff semifinal matchup at the Allstate Sugar Bowl. He would assist the Buckeyes in winning the inaugural CFP National Championship in the 2014 season.
