Roman Harper feels Alabama has become DBU

Alabama defensive back Terrion Arnold (3) celebrates against Texas A&M at Bryant Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, AL on Saturday, Oct 8, 2022.

Former Alabama defensive back and SEC Network college football analyst, Roman Harper feels Alabama has taken over as DBU.

The debate over which program is defensive back university is an ongoing one with programs like Alabama, LSU and Ohio State fighting to stake their claim to the title. Harper thinks the Crimson Tide have become DBU as of late.

“DBU is always a moving target,” Harper said on SEC Now. “Let’s just say that first. Number one, I think Ohio State is definitely on this correct DBU schedule as well as many guys as they produce in the NFL, especially at the corner position. Alabama has become DBU of late because of all of the success under Nick Saban and all the first-rounders. Not only do they get drafted in, but they produce on Sundays as well. I do love what L S U has done, especially wearing the number seven, all their great players, Patrick Peterson, Tyrann Mathieu, you can go on.”

The Tide saw three of their former defensive backs get drafted in the 2023 NFL Draft.
