Jase McClellan, a senior, finds himself a candidate for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award. Earl Campbell, a native of Tyler, Texas, was one of the greatest college and pro football running backs of all time. The honor goes to the best offensive player in college football from the state of Texas. McClellan, who hails from Aledo, Texas, came to the Crimson Tide in its 2020 class.

He suffered an injury as a sophomore, but he bounced back in 2022. McClellan added power to his speed, versatility, and vision, collecting 655 rushing yards, 174 receiving yards (14 catches), and ten touchdowns. He averaged nearly six yards per attempt (5.9) on 111 carries. McClellan helped the Tide to 11 wins, including a 45-20 victory over Kansas State in the Allstate Sugar Bowl.
