The third-year quarterback is more concerned about having a bounce back year. He and Bill O’Brien put on a show for the New England Patriots in Thursday’s joint practice against the Green Bay Packers. According to Patriots beat reporters, it was one of ‘best days of practice’ they had seen from Jones in training camp. He connected with several wide receivers for touchdowns, including a 45 to 50-yard bomb to DeVante Parker in a two-minute drill situation to defeat Green Bay.

Jones also found Tyquan Thornton on a 50-yard deep ball. People have questioned his arm strength, but the Florida native is showing everyone he can launch it. The receivers are beginning to step up and make plays for him too. Jones is becoming more confident with each practice that he can lead the team back to the playoffs. He needed one season as a starting quarterback for Alabama football. Jones, a former three-star recruit, took the Crimson Tide to an undefeated national championship in 2020.
