Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. is set to announce his commitment decision on Friday, Aug. 18 at Gadsden City High School.
Kirkpatrick is expected to announce his decision at 5 p.m. CST. He will choose between Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas and Missouri.
The Crimson Tide are the latest to jump in on the senior. He earned an offer from the Crimson Tide in July.
“After the camp, I felt good,” Kirkpatrick Jr. told Touchdown Alabama. “I knew I did good in the camp. Coach Saban called me to his office, and he told me he would love for me to go to school there and play for him. I feel like it just gives me a boost. It gives me more confidence.”
Dre Kirkpatrick Sr. played at Alabama under Saban from 2009 to 2011 before being selected in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He and his son felt confident about Alabama offering the 2024 recruit before he performed at camp.
“We both knew that it was going to happen as soon as they saw me because I haven’t been up there in like three years,” Kirkpatrick Jr. said. “I knew as soon as they saw me, they were going to offer. He was happy, but we kind of knew.”
The rising senior is projected to be a defensive back at the next level. At 6-foot and 190 pounds, he is a scrappy defender, who roams around the secondary, jumping at every opportunity to create a turnover.
