Williams, a former Alabama wide receiver, will serve a six-game suspension for violating the National Football League’s gambling policy. He is allowed to participate in training camp, joint practices, and preseason games. Williams caught a two-point conversion in the Lions’ preseason matchup against the New York Giants. According to NFL insiders, Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport, Dan Campbell (Lions’ head coach) says there is a ‘good chance’ Williams will be out for the rest of the preseason.

#Lions coach Dan Campbell told reporters that there’s “a good chance” WR Jameson Williams will be out the rest of the preseason with his hamstring injury. That means the next time he’ll be on the field will be when his suspension ends after Week 6.

He is dealing with a hamstring injury. Williams had a monster season with the Crimson Tide in 2021, collecting 79 receptions for 1,572 yards and 15 touchdowns. His explosive playmaking abilities pushed the Tide to a Southeastern Conference Championship and a berth in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game. He also helped Bryce Young become the first Alabama quarterback to win the Heisman Memorial Trophy. Crimson Tide fans look forward to watching Williams on the field again soon.
