He selected the University of Alabama alum at No. 15 overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. Belichick watched Jones lead the Patriots to the playoffs in the National Football League as a rookie, make the NFL’s Top 100 Players list, and appear in his first Pro Bowl as an alternate. He endured struggles last year, but the return of Bill O’Brien has Jones ready to bounce back. Belichick made an appearance Monday on The Greg Hill Show via WEEI 93.7 FM in Boston. He gave much praise to Jones for his offseason work.

Mike Kadlick, who covers New England for WEEI, tweeted out what Belichick said about Jones.

The 2020 College Football Playoff National Champion took the offseason to improve his body, connect with his wide receivers, increase his arm strength, and work toward getting the Patriots back to the playoffs. We may never know if Belichick will physically put his arms around Jones, but this is a start for the legendary head coach.
