During Alabama’s 56-7 win over Middle Tennessee last Saturday, the Crimson Tide saw Malachi Moore and Jaylen Key leave the game with injuries.
On Monday head coach Nick Saban shared that the pair are listed as day-to-day this week as Alabama begins preparations for Texas.
“It’s probably too early to tell what their circumstance will be, probably a couple days and we figure it out,” Saban said. ” I don’t think either guy has long-term issues, but it’ll be interesting to see how they progress this week.”
Key got the start at safety for Alabama on Saturday where he was able to record an interception in his first game with the team. The UAB transfer was replaced by Kristian Story following his injury.
Moore’s injury occurred while blocking on punt return where he was assisted to the medical tent and was later sent to the locker room.
Saban also gave an update on wide receiver Emmanuel Henderson who did not play against the Blue Raiders and was seen on the sidelines using crutches.
“He has a hip injury,” Saban said. “It’s gonna probably be a few more weeks before he gets back into the swing of things but hard to know exactly when. They’ll do some re-checks on him here in the next week or two. He was having a great fall camp, doing a great job on special teams and made a lot of progress as a receiver, so we’d love to get him back.”
Alabama kicks off against Texas on Saturday, Sept. 9 at 6 p.m. CT with ESPN on the call.
