Steve Sarkisian gives thoughts on Jalen Milroe ahead of Alabama-Texas

Steve Sarkisian

The Texas Longhorns’ head football coach Steve Sarkisian discussed what the Alabama Crimson Tide’s quarterback, Jalen Milroe, brings to the table during ESPN’s broadcast of LSU vs. Florida State on Sunday night.

Sarkisian is familiar with the Alabama signal caller. He describes him as a fantastic player, who is a leader.

“Jalen is a fantastic player at quarterback,” Sarkisian said. “We had a chance to recruit him out of high school. He’s got arm talent. He’s got leg talent. He’s a great competitor and leader. There are a lot of things we can take from last year’s game. Schematics are schematics. You find out a little bit more about personnel, whether it’s your own or theirs, and how you can matchup. But every game takes on a life of its own. We have to play better than we did a year ago. We have to make sure we prepare really well and play better football than we did a year ago.”

Milroe put on a show in the Tide’s season-opening win against Middle Tennessee when he became the first Alabama quarterback to throw for three touchdowns and rush for two more.

The Texas native is the projected starter for Alabama this weekend.
