Former Alabama safeties’ coach Charles Kelly feels Deion Sanders is ’98 percent’ like Nick Saban, per Fox Sports college football analyst, Joel Klatt.
Kelly is the defensive coordinator for the Colorado Buffaloes. He departed from Alabama’s staff and joined Sanders in Boulder in December. Klatt discussed what Kelly said about Sanders and Saban on a recent episode of the Colin Cowherd Show.

“His defensive coordinator is Charles Kelly just came from coaching at Alabama for four years and Florida State before that,” Klatt said. “I asked him, I said you tell me how alike are they. How different are they? And he said, they’re 98 percent alike and 2 percent different. It just so happens that you see and hear all the 2 percent and you don’t see the 98 behind the scenes. So one of the reasons why they had such great turnover and immense turnover is that his standard is just way higher than people actually realize from the outside.”
