Alabama defensive back Malachi Moore is expected to take the field against Texas on Saturday according to ESPN’s Chris Low.
Some good news for @AlabamaFTBL’s defense. Sources tell ESPN that senior DB/star Malachi Moore is expected to play Saturday against Texas after being injured last week in the opener. Still TBD on safety Jaylen Key.

Moore was injured during the Crimson Tide’s Week 1 win against Middle Tennessee where he was injured in the third quarter while covering a punt. The senior was aided to the sidelines by training staff and would ultimately be taken to the locker room.
Per Low, the status of fellow defensive back Jaylen Key is still to be determined. During his weekly radio show, Nick Saban shared that the two would likely be game-day decisions.
Alabama will kickoff against Texas on Saturday at 6 p.m. with ESPN on the call.
