According to sources, Touchdown Alabama Magazine has learned Buchner will start the contest against the Bulls.
Jalen Milroe, a redshirt sophomore, will get playing time, but he tossed two interceptions in a 24-34 loss for Alabama versus Texas. Saban wants to evaluate the right quarterback for the job.
Alabama started Jake Coker in the 2015 season at quarterback, but it went to Cooper Bateman for the Ole Miss game. The Tide suffered a 37-43 loss to the Rebels, and Coker started the game on the bench. He entered the matchup in the second half and brought Alabama back. Coker nearly delivered the Tide to a comeback victory, but the team went on to win a national title.
With Buchner expected to start against USF, it will be interesting to see if he becomes the guy moving forward.
